Believe it or not, play is one of the most educational activity
for your child. A child gains incredible skills from playing
on a well-designed play structure.
Before children are 6 years of age, their play experiences
impact how they learn about aspects concerning their daily
lives.
A proper play structure has enough space and sturdy equipment
that allows a child to use his/her imagination while excercising.
Climbers, overhead features, firefighter poles and tunnels
are great tools for this. A child will use multiple skills
and create dozens of scenarios as they play on this one structure..
What's learned in outdoor play refines a childs gross-motor
(large muscle) skills. The cross-lateral movement (right arm/
left arm) involved is critical to a child's later success
in reading and writing. Playground time is also an opportunity
to explore and manipulate a different environment.
In addition, youngsters also love outdoor play because they
can let their imaginations run loose while getting physical
activity. They can turn the playstructure into a rocket ship,
a castle, a firehouse - anything they choose.
